On 30 October, the Chinese Ambassador Mr. Qu Zhe visited the SA Vanemuine Theater in Tartu, Estonia.

The General Manager of the theater Mr. Toomas Peterson accompanied the ambassador to have a brief tour at the theater. He introduced the history, artists and facilities of the theater, and expressed his interest in developing cooperation with theaters in China and strengthening the exchanges and cooperation in future.

Ambassador Qu congratulated the theater on all the achievements made so far. He briefly reviewed the cooperation in culture between China and Estonia, both at bilateral level and within the framework of the China and Central and Eastern European Countries Cooperation. The ambassador acknowledged the General Manager's willingness of establishing cooperation with Chinese theaters and promised that the Chinese Embassy in Estonia would contribute to facilitate the exchanges and cooperation.

After the meeting, the ambassador and his spouse joined the audience to watch the premiere of the ballet opera Don Juan performed by the ballet group of the theater.
