Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy Attends Seminar on Doing business in China

During the Chinese Week in Tartu on 18-27 April, the Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Estonia Mr. Wu Yan attended the Seminar on Doing Business in China in Tartu on 18 April.

In his opening remarks, Counsellor Wu gave an overview on the progress of the reform and restructuring of the Chinese economy as well as economic cooperation between China and Estonia. He said China's Belt and Road Initiative offered many opportunities for companies both at home and abroad. He encouraged the Estonian enterprises to make most of the opportunities and grow business with Chinese companies together. He hoped the Estonian enterprises develop better understanding on policies and business practices in China in order to be successful in Chinese market. He promised his department will provide quality service and necessary assistance to both Chinese and Estonian companies for win-win cooperation. The Counsellor also talked briefly about the recent visit to Estonia by the Chinese Vice Premier H.E. Mr. Zhang Gaoli.

The representative from Enterprise Estonia presented her observation on Chinese market. Some Estonian companies shared their views and experience in doing business with their Chinese counterpart. The seminar was co-organized by the Chinese Embassy in Estonia, Tartu City Government and the Asian Center of Tartu University. More than 30 people from academic institutions and different sectors attended the seminar.
