Mrs. Sun Peng, Chinese Ambassador’s wife, hosted at her residence more than 20 children from the SOS Children's Village, together with members of the Embassy Women’s Club on 7 January 2019, celebrating the upcoming Chinese New Year and experiencing Chinese traditional culture.

Mrs. Sun welcomed all Estonian friends from the SOS Children’s Village to her home, expressed her appreciation to SOS children's village for its long-term commitment to charity work and helping those needed with care and love. Mrs Sun briefed on the upcoming traditional Chinese Lunar New Year, wished all the children a happy New Year, hoping all Estonian friends present could feel the happy and peaceful atmosphere of Chinese New Year, and learn more about Chinese culture through this get-together. Mrs. Brita Kiik, representative of Estonia SOS Children's Village, thanked Mrs. Sun and the Chinese Embassy for kind assistance and the hospitality throughout the years, expressed good wishes for continued friendship and cooperation, and a better future for the children.

The event was joyful. The children from both the SOS children's village and the Chinese Embassy interacted with each other with their wonderful performance. They also played traditional Chinese games, sang and danced together. With the culture theme of "Chinese ink painting", the Embassy Women’s Club also held a variety of activities for children, including watching Chinese ink cartoon, learning how to do ink painting and writing Chinese calligraphy characters with brush.

Before farewell, Mrs. Sun presented stationery to the children as New Year gifts and extended her best wishes to all from the SOS Children's Village.
