"Happy Chinese New Year" indoor performance held in Tallinn

On February 1, 2019, the "Happy Chinese New Year" indoor performance was held at the Russian Cultural Center in Tallinn downtown. The Vice Mayor of Tallinn Mr. Vadim Belobrovtsev and the Deputy Director General of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism Ms. Pang Wei attended the event and delivered speeches respectively. H.E. Mr. Ambassador Li Chao and Madame Ms. Sun Peng, the former Estonian President H.E. Mr. Rüütel and the former Chairman of the Estonia-China Parliamentary Group Mr. Kallo attended the event, too.

Both Mr. Belobrovtsev and Ms. Pang Wei appreciated highly the achievements of cultural exchanges and cooperation between the cities of Tallinn and Beijing and highlighted the "Happy Chinese New Year" event for its contribution to promote mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples during the last 10 years. Both cities agreed to further strengthen the cooperation in order to achieve a new height in the future.

The performance was kicked off by Chinese martial art show. Then the musicians played several pieces of traditional Chinese melodies with traditional Chinese musical instruments Guzheng, Lute, Liuqin, Erhu and Sheng. Classical dances and Kunqu Opera were also performed by the artists. The performances were rich in variety and fascinating, which won warm applause and cheers of all the audience.
