Ambassador Li Chao Met with Estonian Foreign Minister

On September 2, 2019, Chinese Ambassador to Estonia Mr. Li Chao met with Estonian Foreign Minister Mr. Urmas Reinsalu. Both sides exchanged views on bilateral relations and topics of mutual interest.

Ambassador Li congratulated Mr. Reinsalu on his appointment as Foreign Minister of the new Estonian government and the election of Estonia as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2020-2021. Ambassador Li spoke highly of the achievements made by Estonia in the fileds of economic and social development, environmental protection and digital construction, etc. The Ambassador looked forward to the constructive role played by Estonia in the Security Council and hoped both countries to further enchance the exchages and cooperation in various fields under the framework of Belt and Road Construction and "17+1 Cooperation", promoting the development of bilateral relations to a new height.

Minister Reinsalu thanked Ambassador Li for his congratulations. “In recent years, the Estonia-China relations have developed very rapidly and the election of Estonia as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council has created a new platform for cooperation between the two countries.” Mr. Reinsalu said, “Estonia attaches great importance to our bilateral relations and is ready to work with China to further promote practical cooperation between Estonia and China so as to achieve more positive results. ”
