Schedule for Chinese Spring Festival Celebrations in Tallinn 2017

On the occasion of Chinese Spring Festival, the Chinese Embassy in Estonia, together with our partners, will organize a series of celebrations in Tallinn at the end of January. We welcome everyone to join the celebrations and wish you a joyful and prosperous new year!

 

Chinese Film Week

23-25 January 2017, Kino Artis at Solaris Center

Free public screenings of five Chinese films (with Estonian subtitles) will be held during the week. Those who are interested in taking part could collect complimentary tickets at the box office of Kino Artis no earlier than three hours before the film. Please kindly note that online booking is not available for the screenings. Happy Chinese New Year Celebration

16:00-18:00, 29 January 2017, Vabaduse Square

It is the 8th year that the Happy Chinese New Year Celebrations is held in Tallinn. Artists from Beijing will perform traditional Chinese music, dance, martial arts, acrobatics, etc. Some of the Chinese intangible cultural heritages are also going to be demonstrated at the event. Firework display will light the sky after the show. It is free outdoor event. Everyone is welcome to join the celebration.

 

Grand Chinese New Year Concert

19:00, 29 January 2017, Estonian Concert Hall

Two China National Arts Foundation award winning orchestras –Shaanxi Broadcasting Chinese Orchestra and Zhejiang Traditional Orchestra will present traditional Chinese music with their native instruments. The concert will be one of the celebrations for the 20th Anniversary of the Grand Chinese New Year Concert. It is a great occasion to experience Chinese music and culture in Tallinn. New Silk Road Outdoor Photo Exhibition

28 January to 17 February, Harju Street

The exhibition will show the different culture of Chinese ethnic groups and amazing landscapes from the eastern to the western part of China along the Ancient Silk Road.
