On November 24, 2005, Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui met with Director-General Walter Fust of the Agency for Development and Cooperation within the Swiss Foreign Ministry. Both sides made positive comments on current bilateral relations, indicating that they would like to keep closer cooperation in the areas of politics, economy, science & technology and tourism, as well as in international affairs. Both sides also exchanged views on international issues of common interest.

Fust visited China at the invitation of China Training Center for Senior Personnel Management Officials (CTCSPMO).
