Tibetan cultural exchange group visits Estonia

On 18-20 September 2016, the Tibetan Culture Group that is consisted of government officials, living Buddha and scholars from China's Tibetan Autonomous Region visited Estonia.

During their visit, the delegation attended a panel discussion with the theme of "Today's Tibet" at Estonian National Library. Officials of the delegation introduced the latest social and economic development in Tibet. Scholars on Tibetology briefly presented research findings on the history of Tibet and Buddhism. The living Buddha gave an overview about the philosophy and his religious practicing. The group had candid exchange of views with the participants. Many people watched the documentary "Roof of the World", which was screened for the public.

The delegation also met with members of the Estonia-China Friendship Parliamentary Group and officials from the Estonian Ministry of Culture, and had a discussion on various topics about Tibet. Both sides agreed to further promote mutual understanding on each other's culture and enhance cooperation between Estonia and China's Tibet.

The Chinese Ambassador Mr. Qu Zhe attended some of the program.
