Chinese Vice-Minister of Human Resources and Social Security Zhang Yizhen visits Estonia

On 9-11 May, the Chinese Vice-Minister of Human Resources and Social Security Mrs. Zhang Yizhen visited Estonia and met with the Estonian Minister of Social Protection Ms. Kaia Iva, Deputy Secretary General of Ministry of Education and Research Mr. Mart Laidmets and the board member of Innove Foundation Ms. Katri Targama.

The Estonian Minister of Social Protection Kaia Iva gave an overview on the pension and pre-school education system in Estonia and shared views on reforms that will address some of the new challenges. The Deputy Secretary General Mart Laidmets and Ms. Katri Targama of Innove Foundation shared Estonian experience in developing vocational and life-long education during their discussion with the Chinese Vice-Minister. Mrs. Zhang briefed her Estonian colleagues on China’s policies and experience on social affairs and vocational training. Both sides were satisfied with the visit and agreed to have more exchanges to share experience in addressing similar challenges in social affairs. Mrs. Zhang also visited Estonian leading vocational school - Tallinn Centre of Industrial Education.

Chinese Ambassador Mr. Qu Zhe attended some of the meetings.
