Deputy Chair of Foreign Affairs Committee of CPPCC visits Estonia

On 4-7 July, at the invitation of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Riigikogu of Estonia, the Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Liu Hongcai visited Estonia.

At the meetings with the First Vice-President Enn Eesmaa, members of the Foreign Affairs Committee and members of the Estonia-China Parliamentary Group of the Riigikogu, Liu Hongcai congratulated the Republic of Estonia on its 100th anniversary. He gave an overview on China’s foreign policy in the new era and the latest measures China has taken in pursuit of deepening reform and expanding opening-up. The delegation and the Estonian MPs also exchanged views on bilateral relationship, the Belt and Road Initiative, the Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries, relations between major countries, global and regional hotspot issues and topics of common interest. Both sides spoke positively of fruitful cooperation between China and Estonia and agreed to work more closely to tap potentials in order to bring the mutually beneficial cooperation to the next level. The delegation also called upon the Estonian President H.E. Mrs. Kersti Kaljulaid.

During the visit, the delegation met with scholars of Estonian Foreign Policy Institute and visited Post 11, a joint venture between the Chinese private enterprise SF express and the Omniva of Estonia. The delegation also familiarized themselves with the e-services of Estonia during their visit to e-showroom.
