The CAAC Administrator Visited Estonia

On 21-24 October, at the invitation of the Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communication(MKM), the Administrator of Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) Mr. Feng Zhenglin visited Estonia to promote the development of civil aviation relations between China and Estonia.

On the morning of 23rd October, Mr. Feng Zhenglin met with Mr. Ahti Kuningas, the Deputy Secretary General for Transport of MKM. The two sides carried out in-depth exchanges on modifying the existing Air Service Agreement between China and Estonia and the cooperation in various civil aviation fields. During the meeting, Mr. Feng Zhenglin and Mr. Ahti Kuningas signed the MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE AERONAUTICAL AUTHORITIES OF THE REPUBLIC OF ESTONIA AND THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA, which has laid the legal basis for opening routes and developing business cooperation between air service enterprises of the two countries.

Mr. Feng Zhenglin said the MOU between the aeronautical authorities was a necessary step for modifying the existing Air Service Agreement which has been 20 years. It was also to implement the important consensus on practical cooperation reached when our two Presidents met last year. China is willing to expand cooperation in various fields of civil aviation on the basis of mutual benefit and win-win cooperation under the framework of the "Belt And Road" initiative and the "17+1" cooperation.

Mr. Ahti Kuningas welcomed the CAAC delegation, he said that Estonia hope to be the redistribution center for the e-commerce enterprises between China and Europe. Air transport is an essential part. Estonia has the advantages and willingness to cooperate with Chinese aviation enterprises and would like to develop cargo and passenger flights between our two countries through joint efforts.
