Ambassador Li Chao visits Tallinn University

On April 25th, at the invitation of Professor Tiit Land, rector of Tallinn University, the Chinese Ambassador Li Chao visited to university.

Professor Land gave an overview of the history and development plan of Tallinn University and the Confucius Institute. He was satisfied with the cooperation with Shanghai University of Finance and Economics in promoting teaching of Chinese language and culture in Estonia. The rector hoped to expand cooperation with more Chinese higher education institutions and increase the number of exchanges students from China studying in Tallinn University.

Ambassador Li Chao spoke positively of the cooperation between Tallinn University and universities in China. He appreciated that Tallinn University Confucius Institute has made effort in promoting Chinese language and culture in Estonia. “As the mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Estonia is growing from strength to strength, the demand for more bilingual specialists are increasing”, said the Ambassador. He hoped that Tallinn University Confucius Institute will continue improving its teaching methods so that more and more people will be interested in learning mandarin.

Accompanied by the directors of Tallinn University Confucius Institute, the Ambassador also made a brief tour and familiarized himself with the Institute.
